Extra Curriculum Activities
INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY
With the growing emphasis on Information and Communications Technology and Resource Based Learning, students need to be introduced to the use of computers so that they may confidently use them in their learning. The computer is primarily a learning tool, not a teaching machine. Computer applications such as word processing, searching World Wide Web, accessing information and telecommunication, are examples of the computers being used as a learning tool at Tauhei Combined School. Pupils may be given a problem solving task which requires the use of information and communications technologies. Students can communicate with students from other schools and research study topics, using fax, phone, digital camera, internet.
We have 2 people who visit the school on a weekly basis to take “Bible in Schools” for 30 minutes. Lessons are based on an approved syllabus designed for use in schools which is non-denominational. Parents who wish to withdraw children from the programme must make their objections in writing to the Principal.
Each classroom participates in a music programme which involves singing, playing and appreciating music.
Every two years a production involves all children in the school.
Instruction from professional teachers is available for:
